The CFO who books the freight.
Fifteen years as CFO, Controller and Director of Accounting. Built a medical-billing company as CFO & President and sold it. Then wrote the business plan for a beverage startup in week one and took it from a pro-forma to 59 Costco warehouses in about two years — confirming the first purchase orders himself. Now on the Smart Fed Supply team.
Numbers, then pallets.
DJ's bio reads like a finance career — fifteen years across CFO, Controller, Director of Accounting, treasury and consulting, with M&A and contract negotiation, BYU-educated — and then the part that matters: he built Premier Health Billing Services in Ramona, California as its CFO and President, and sold it in a 2023 healthcare-services transaction. A founder-operator with an exit, not a hired-in finance lead.
In January 2024 he joined a functional-beverage startup as founding CFO and board designee, delivered the first P/L pro-forma and business plan in week one, and then did the unglamorous work: pallet and case specs, budgets, freight bookings, receiving appointments. In December 2025 he personally confirmed the brand's first two Costco purchase orders; by February 2026 the product was launching in 59 Costco warehouses and live on Amazon. He is a member of the Smart Fed Supply team, where his finance discipline and his operator's eye meet federal supply.

What a CFO brings to a supply company
Founded a medical-billing company as CFO & President and took it through an acquisition. He has sat on the seller's side of a real transaction.
Wrote the business plan in January 2024. Product launched in 59 Costco warehouses in February 2026. That is the whole arc, and he ran the numbers for all of it.
The first two Costco purchase orders were confirmed to the depot by the CFO — then he was on the phone about booking the loads within ten minutes.
A decade and a half of closing books, running budgets and negotiating contracts before any of this. The discipline is not new.
Sets case-per-pallet specs, books freight, chases receiving appointments. In his words, he enjoys "digging into operations, and alignment with inventory and cashflow."
Not a hired finance lead — a founding shareholder with a board seat, signing the consents and the vendor letters.
Brings large-load planning and cash discipline to a veteran-led federal supply company. Volume, forecasting, on-time — the CFO's version of the mission.
Married 17 years, four children who, in his words, keep the family busy and on its toes.
